The trail system is interconnected and well maintained, making it easy to ride. There are three different sections of the trail. You can start your adventure at the back northwest corner of the Naylor Mill parking lot. From there, you will be able to follow a relatively flat, well-maintained trail that makes use of one ridge.
While the northern section of the trail is quite flat, the southern section is more challenging. It begins in a very flat area and then descends down towards the Leonard Pond Run. In addition to banked turns, this section is also equipped with obstacles.
Wildlife
Located in the middle of Salisbury, Leonards Mill Park is a nice, tranquil oasis. It offers access to a variety of wildlife and recreation. You’ll find a playground, sports field, picnic area, and a boat ramp for easy access to Leonards Mill Pond. The playground has a play set with monkey bars, a Gametime play set, and a horseshoe pit.
During the summer, visitors can enjoy fishing on Leonards Mill Pond. It’s a 30-acre pond with a maximum depth of 8 feet, making it ideal for largemouth bass and bluegill fishing. There’s also a canoe/kayak path that runs through the pond. Aside from fishing, there’s also a visitor center, which provides information about the pond and its history.
If you are looking for an exciting activity, you may want to consider a visit to the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art. This museum has the largest collection of antique decoys in the world. Visitors can see works by artists who carve birds as an artistic expression, or as a hunting tool.
Visit the Salisbury Zoological Park
The Salisbury Zoological Park is a free zoo that is open to the public. Visitors can enjoy animals from Africa, Australia, and North America. You can also see rescued birds of prey and turtles.
