Oceanfront Park

Located on 125th Street and the bay, Northside Park is Ocean City’s largest park facility. This 58-acre complex features three softball/baseball fields, a soccer field, a multipurpose field, a fishing lagoon, a footbridge, concession stands, two playgrounds, a picnic area, a gazebo, and two piers. It also provides walking/jogging paths and a large building with a 14,200 square foot gymnasium, kitchen, community room, conference room, patio, and sitting areas, and a sports center annex featuring a 21,000 square foot multi-sport arena.

It is a great place for picnics and a lot of fun activities with family and friends. The kids can run around, fly kites or play games on the playgrounds while you sit back and relax.

The park’s perimeter paths are a pleasant, traffic-free opportunity for a nice jog. You can also combine a trip to the park with a run on the ocean beach or one of the nearby residential streets, which are quiet and enjoyable for running.

The 58-acre park features three lighted softball-baseball fields, a lighted soccer field, a multipurpose field, a fishing lagoon, a footbridge, concession stands, two playgrounds, a picnic area, two piers, and a gazebo. There is also a large building with a 14,200-square-foot gymnasium, community room, kitchen, conference room, and patio sitting areas.

Perlozzo, who sat on the town council at the time Northside Park was built decades ago, said that while it was intended to be open green recreation areas, the facility has grown into a revenue generator through the various leagues, tournaments, and camps it hosts. He added that a study of the facility’s impact is worth pursuing.

For runners, the paved pathways at Northside Park are fairly traffic free and provide a pleasant opportunity to run in a quieter part of Ocean City. A loop of the perimeter paths is about a mile. Runners can also combine it with a run on the beach or on the quiet residential streets that surround the park. More places to also visit by clicking here.
